The artwork 'the Self' follows the series 'Atoms of Consciousness'. These works deal with the theme of the human brain. The individual 'the Self' appears as a physical representation of autobiographical consciousness from a fleshly string, in which the representation lies somewhere between a scaly skin, a gut and a gray mass. This awareness leads to an extensive memory, reasoning, imagination, creativity, language and self-reflection. The instruments of culture (art, science, trade, religion, technology and justice) come from this and are inseparable from 'the Self', which is bordered with a golden edge. This perspective on ourselves is not accessible to others, but turns out to be our most precious asset ... the Golden Self.
